ADEF launches pre-camp training of trainers workshop 13 – 18 July
Cairo 13-07-2009 – The Arab Digital Expression Foundation launched its training of training workshop which includes 26 trainers from Egypt, Tunis, Morocco, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon which continues until July 18.
The workshop includes several training sessions on facilitation skills, the art of feedback, curriculum development skills related to experiential and activity-based learning as well as drama for expression training, digital data management and team building skills.
Joining ADEF ithis uear are three 16-year old ex-campers who will work as group leaders during the summer camps which is one of the foundation's goals for continuity of digital expression.
Another form of sustainability accomplished in 2009 is partnerships established between ADEF and four local associations working in youth development. These include Salama Moussa Association (Minya – Egypt), Jozour Association for Human Development (Wazan – Morocco), Ruwwad Association (Amman – Jordan and Unesco Club d'Alesco (Bardo – Tunis).
ADEF has funded youth from the above associations to join the camps while those associations have funded local trainers to join the training of trainers' workshop as well as the summer camps.
Agreements have been established with these local associations to organize workshops during 2010 to take the methodology developed by ADEF in digital expressions to local communities in these countries.
For its 2009 session, scheduled July 19 to 31, 60 Arab youth aged 12 to 15 (50% female) from Morocco, Tunis, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq will take part in workshops in filmmaking, animation, digital sound and music and blogging and web 2.0 as well as take part in fun evening activities and day trips.
